The online Dementia and Driving Education Module is a freely available 3-hour self-led interactive course for health professionals. Alternatively, contact us for collaboration opportunities to deliver a bespoke course for team members in your organisation.

Early conversations and planning for a time when driving oneself is not possible, will ensure the maintenance of important social activities.

The online Dementia and Driving Education Moduleis a freely available 3-hour self-led interactive course for health professionals.

The course was developed with the support of Catalyst Foundation and has been delivered face to face to 281 healthcare professionals across Australia, including over 100 general practitioners.

To determine the effectiveness of the course a single group pretest-posttest survey design was used to measure changes in outcome measures of self-reported knowledge, confidence, and competence. The findings of the study can be found here:

  3. how the dementia and driving decision aid (DDDA) booklet can be used in clinical practice
  4. the key issues relevant to driving retirement and dementia from the perspective of a range of stakeholders

  1. the barriers and facilitators for supporting and guiding individuals living with dementia and family carers in driving retirement decisions
Develop
  1. an action plan for developing your daily practice for driving retirement with individuals living with dementia and their family carers
  2. the ability to develop one (1) or (2) driving retirement plans
